Fireplace

The cast-iron fireplace

Probably the best place in the cooler months of the year: on the chaiselongue for two in front of the crackling open fire.

However: you have to add beech briquettes from time to time. And you have to bring them in from time to time...But you'll be rewarded with cozy warmth and the always fascinating sight of the flickering fire.

The stove heats the whole cottage apartment, even at -21°C. There is underfloor heating in the bathroom, and if it really does crack again, you can switch on a radiator downstairs at night. Upstairs it is usually so warm that you can sleep with the window open.

The other day a guest asked when is the best time to refill the basket with beech briquettes? So if you like to go out in the morning in your night suit in ice & snow and -XX°C, you can go to sleep with an empty basket ;-)
