Questions upon questions...
- Is Beniaskie! really right on the lake?
Yes, the estate has approximately 300 metres of shoreline on Lake Beniaskie. To the north is the floating jetty with the rowing boat; from there you can also jump into the lake or set off on the SUPs. To the south is the Chill-Out Deck with the lake view sauna.
- How many guests can spend holidays on Beniaskie!?
Each Cottage Apartment can accommodate up to four adults/children and one baby/toddler. If you want Beniaskie! all to yourselves, you can rent both Cottage Apartments and then you can arrive with eight adults/children and two babies/toddlers.
- Can we bring our dog with us?
Of course! A mat for water and food bowls is provided, the bowls upon request. Unfortunately, dogs classified by Polish law as aggressive breeds and dogs up to 1 year old are not allowed at Beniaskie!. More information here >>>
- Are the two Cottage Apartments right next to each other?
No, between them is the 12-metre-long barn, where the bicycles and SUPs are stored. You can also store your bicycles and fishing equipment there, or the pram.
- Are the two Cottage Apartments completely independent, or do we share anything with the other guests?
Yes, each of the two Cottage Apartments is completely independent, with a separate entrance, two covered verandas with barbecue, its own campfire site, an open-plan lounge with fireplace and chaiselongue in front, kitchen and dining area, and a shower room. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with views of the countryside – one with a double bed, the other with two single beds and a cot/toddler bed.
- Is Beniaskie! open all year round, even in the depths of winter?
Yes, 24/365, even at -26°C resp. -14.8°F. Every season has its advantages, and ice and snow are the perfect time for evenings by the fireplace, Fondue Bourguignonne, tobogganing on the Beniaskie! hills, ice skating on the Beniaskie! lake or village pond, and, of course, the Sauna with lake view and Chill-Down-Deck.
- Can we also go fishing on Beniaskie! Do we need a fishing permit for this?
Yes, twice over! You can fish from the shore, the jetty and from the boat. Lake Beniaskie is regularly stocked by the PZW and you can catch pike, tench and catfish, among other species. To do so, you need a PZW fishing permit, which you can book quickly and easily online at the PZW, either from home or once you are here. You will find detailed instructions in the "Explorer's Handbook".
- Can we only fish on Beniaskie Lake with the PZW fishing permit?
No, the PZW fishing permit is also valid for the three southern neighbouring lakes Niegławki, Litwa and Włodowo. If you have a roof rack with you, you can also load our small "coffin ship" onto it and go on a fishing trip there.
- Is it possible to go diving in the region?
Of course, in Lake Wuksniki on the other side of the estate, just a few minutes away. At 68 metres, it is the deepest lake in Warmia-Masuria, has crystal-clear water and hosts a diving camp during the summer holidays.
- So far off the beaten track – will we be completely offline?
No, there is Wi-Fi for you via 4G/LTE...and that's fine for checking emails, surfing the web or making video calls. Unfortunately, it's not designed for very large amounts of data such as TV streaming, YouTube, Netflix & Co. or online games, but that's probably not why you're coming here anyway...
- What should we definitely bring with us?
- For hygiene reasons, please be sure to pack your own towels for the bathroom, beach, and sauna – bed linen washed in fresh spring water at 90°C and dried in the sun and wind is already waiting for you
- Outdoor shoes are strictly prohibited indoors, so bring Crocs or similar, or cosy, thick house socks.
- Good reading material, a pack of cards, etc.
- Explorers should also bring binoculars and a compass.
- A warm jumper is a good idea at any time of year...
- ...as well as sturdy shoes and, for the little ones, rubber boots are best.
- What kind of holiday awaits us on Beniaskie!?
We want to offer you an aesthetically pleasing, eventful, but above all peaceful holiday close to nature. Almost everything we have used in the construction comes from nature: certified wood, jute, linseed oil for wood protection, cotton, goose down – wherever possible, we have avoided the use of plastics or chemicals, so that you can really relax and recharge your batteries, both physically and mentally, on Beniaskie! On the other hand, the peace and quiet can sometimes be disturbed by a round baler and tractor rolling by, or by storks ignoring the ban on low-altitude and night-time flights, not to mention the croaking of frogs and the early morning cries of cranes.

Unfortunately, the minimum stay is 2 nights, and from May to October it's usually 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday... but sometimes we make exceptions if it fit the booking calendar.
- Can we change a reservation that has been made or paid for?
Unfortunately, this is not usually possible – we will try, but without guarantee or entitlement. If you are concerned that something might change, you can take out travel cancellation insurance for a few percent of the travel price to be on the safe side.
- Can we cancel our confirmed or paid reservation?
Beniaskie! is a small, remote residence for special guests – no one decides spontaneously to take a trip to old East Prussia, or even comes across by chance. We therefore ask for your understanding that in the event of cancellation before arrival, non-arrival or early departure, any claim for reimbursement of the agreed or pro-rata travel price is generally excluded. However, we will of course try to re-let your booking to someone else. If, contrary to all experience, we succeed in doing so, we promise to refund you the corresponding amount. Or, in the event of a lockdown on the day of arrival, you will receive a voucher and can then holiday at Beniaskie! on another date of your choice. If you are concerned that something might come up, take out travel cancellation insurance to be on the safe side – it costs just a few percent of the travel price and provides good cover.
